Administration Enterprise
The administration section covers the management layer of your Trapster deployment:
| Topic | Description |
|---|---|
| Users | Invite users, assign roles and namespaces |
| Roles | Configure access control |
| Licensing | View and manage your license |
| Audit Logs | Track configuration changes and user actions |
Recommended setup
For optimal effectiveness, your Trapster VMs should be:
- Placed in network segments with high user or attacker activity (user VLANs, near NAS, in the DMZ)
- Configured with services that match your real infrastructure - attackers who know your environment will target recognizable services
- Not overloaded with too many services - a realistic decoy has a focused service profile, not a "Christmas tree"
TIP
Strike a balance between realism and believability. A honeypot with 20 open ports looks suspicious to a careful attacker. Two or three services that match your environment are more convincing.
