Administration Enterprise

The administration section covers the management layer of your Trapster deployment:

TopicDescription
UsersInvite users, assign roles and namespaces
RolesConfigure access control
LicensingView and manage your license
Audit LogsTrack configuration changes and user actions

For optimal effectiveness, your Trapster VMs should be:

  • Placed in network segments with high user or attacker activity (user VLANs, near NAS, in the DMZ)
  • Configured with services that match your real infrastructure - attackers who know your environment will target recognizable services
  • Not overloaded with too many services - a realistic decoy has a focused service profile, not a "Christmas tree"

TIP

Strike a balance between realism and believability. A honeypot with 20 open ports looks suspicious to a careful attacker. Two or three services that match your environment are more convincing.
